Make Me Laugh-Funny jokes that make you laugh (by J joryen)

Laughter pot .I once attended a customer satisfaction survey meeting in Japan and gave a presentation. When I asked a customer from the UK what they thought about this conference, he said, "I was surprised because the Japanese participants laughed so often. ]. By the way, this was my first visit to Japan and he didn't speak Japanese either.

British people who are unfamiliar with Japan generally have the impression that the Japanese are formal, polite and serious. However, it is a big mistake to think that Japanese people do not understand humor. Rather, the Japanese often say, "I wish the British could relax their shoulders a little more. Especially after 5! I often say.

As for my presentation at the conference mentioned above, I didn't make full use of my Japanese ability to make jokes or make jokes in order to get laughter. Of course, I didn't buy a tired laugh (I want to think so!), But I didn't invite an ironic laugh. Ironically, black humor is a common British practice, and such humor is sometimes used in business. However, if you make a mistake, it can lead to misunderstandings between different cultures.

Humor reminds me of the experience of a British marketing director. He worked for a Japanese car maker, but he said he was present at a disastrous board meeting. At this seat, Dutch and German directors started discussions, hitting their respective principles, and getting excited. The Japanese president, who had been watching the situation for a while, said, "I'd like to make a few comments,"

The British marketing director who told me this story immediately followed the president and tried to make a joke, "Mike said it as a joke," but the president said. "You don't think you know that much, you! Then, "Can you tell the joke that you can say it from the one that doesn't?" Idiot! I was angry. In short, Mike intended to alleviate the situation with a little poisonous joke, but he had the opposite effect. Most English people who hear this story shrug their shoulders and get a reply saying, "Mike is a little dull."

And I explain that Japanese people understand bitter jokes well, and that it is common for colleagues to make fun of each other at work, and that they have a good sense of humor. But especially in business, it's misleading to cross this subtle line without considering cultural differences. To be sure, Mike's joke was too poisonous for the "Japanese spirit" in the seats with Japanese people and the tradition of respecting hierarchical relationships.

Let's get back to the beginning, but even if I ask myself what was interesting about my talk at the meeting, I don't really know. Perhaps the Englishman's peculiar playfulness and a little selfish humor were received in the passages of the story. The sense of humor that can ridicule oneself is the national character that British people are proud of, but it seems that this is also common to Japanese people. Apparently, humor that is nimble and can make you laugh is more internationally accepted than sarcastic jokes and puns.
